Physical Effects of KS
There are different physical effects that XXY syndrome may cause in 3 different stages of a patients life, these effects are listed below:
Birth
Childhood
Puberty

Birth
- Small penis
- Undescended testicles
- Hypospadias (urethra located on the underside of the penis rather than the tip)
Childhood
- Tiredness and fatigue
- Delays in starting to talk or walk
- Learning difficulties
- Low motor coordination
- Reduced muscle strength
Puberty
- Small testicles (all males with XXY have small testicles from puberty)
- Small penis
- Lack of facial/pubic hair
- Breast tissue development
- Poor concentration
- Unexplained weight gain
- Taller than average height
- Disproportionally long arms and legs compared to the length of the body
- Lowered mood or depression
- Speech and learning difficulties - possibly behavioural issues
- Difficulties with sexual functioning - may include little to no sperm production
